The inscription of Love

Sayings of Hazrat-e Pir Safialishah II
We can only understand the Koran by first searching and finding the signs [1] and verses of the Koran in our inner self.

When we succeed in transforming our ‘nafs' (lower self), we can behold the beauty of the unseen world within ourself.

Within our ‘nafs', we may encounter the hell of the hereafter in this world.

Basically, generosity means giving away the best you have in the name of the Beloved, not what you can do without.

Self-realisation through knowledge of God means paradise. Lacking that knowledge means hell.

By adhering to the guidelines and principles of the Sufi Path, we discover the mysteries of our inner world. It's a kind of alchemy, that transforms the copper of our life into gold.

Detaching yourself from the material world is one of the most essential ways to advance on the Path.

Contentment means that we enjoy what we have, be that as little as it may.

One cannot comprehend the standards and principles of Sufism in a rational or scientific manner. Sufi wisdom (gnosis or knowledge of God) surpasses all forms of knowledge. As such, it is always centuries ahead of science.

All knowledge or science in which Love flows, draws us closer to God.
If you try to picture God in your imagination, you will only see the product of your imagination, an illusion, not the true God.

Potentially, we possess divine powers and qualities. By practising zikr, we can reflect them outwards.

A Sufi's ultimate goal is to attain Beauty. So, if you encounter anything else on your Path, it's an idol.

Being human has nothing to do with one's outer appearance. Being human has to do with one's inner state.

Khaneqah with arrogance, enhance their inner impurity. Only they who enter the Khaneqah with love, can achieve inner enlightenment.

The nafs (untrue ego) is the biggest pedestal for idols, on which at any moment a new idol is made for man.

Hell is in fact the darkness and ignorance in man. The realisation of divine Love is the realisation of the paradise of the hereafter in this life.

Desiring some extraordinary talent is no virtue, but a form of greed of the nafs.

The true believer is he who has discovered the unseen world (‘alam-e ghaib) within himself. Nothing can undermine his faith.

The true lover loves the Beloved, whether He be angry or kind. He feels contentment in all circumstances.

If we can unite our hearts, we can perform wonderful deeds.

"Allah is the light of the heavens and of the earth" (Sura 24 - Surat-un-Nur - the Light Sura - verse 35)does not mean that God is light. It means that God enlightens the world.

However generous God may be, and however great the abundance may be of the gifts that He bestows upon us, His servant's obligation nonetheless remains to work and to be active.

Service should be rendered for God, and not in expectation of people's gratitude and praise.

Being a derwish does not mean that you may not possess anything. Being a derwish means that you may possess anything, but that you may not be attached to anything.

Humility means that you prostrate yourself before God and that you feel at fault that you have not been able to completely fulfil your task in life, i.e. that you have not seen Him.

[1] The Arabic term for "Koranic verse" is ayat. The literal meaning of this word is "sign". In other words, Koranic verses are "Signs of God". These same "Signs of God" are to be found in God's manifestation, i.e. in His creation, and in the inner self of man. Qur’an: 41.53. We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?
